Racecar Design and Manufacturing
10/01/2023
During the 2023 season, I laid the foundations for the design and manufacturing of the season. An evolution of the previous vehicle, starting with a newly manufactured chassis, improved finishes, materials, and components. This resulted in a faster, lighter, and more reliable car.

- Carbon fiber intake, improved weight and low rpm torque response on the dyno.
- Added PWM control of water pump, swirlpot and parallel configuration with two water radiators.
- Aerodynamic air inlet and outlet ducts for radiators.
- More compact exhaust and reduced center of mass height.
Wiring and electronics
- Data acquisition module connected to the electronic control unit.
- Display on the dashboard with information for the rider.
- New sensors for traction control systems, departure assistance and electronic gear shifting.
Aerodynamic package
- Full aerodynamic package. Front and rear wings, floor and rear floor diffuser.
Dynamics and Suspension
- Lighter rims
- Wider tires and better compound for the car.
- Reduced weight and inertia in rotational components.
Chassis
- Optimized chassis design.
- New narrower pedal board.
- Clutch actuation by hand.
With all the improvements in the car, it ended in a 13 kg weight reduction from previous car and a 3 seconds lap improvement at a 280 m test track of MART Formula Student.
